How to Get to Edville Studio – Everything You Need to Know

Edville Studio is accessible in several ways, whether you’re traveling by public transport, bike, or car.
 By train, tram, or bus, it’s just a matter of a few transfers and a short walk, depending on where you’re coming from.  

Prefer coming by car? You’re in luck, because Edville Studio is located just outside the low-emission zone.
This means you can drive into the city without worry and easily find parking nearby. In short, there are plenty of options to make your trip go smoothly. ​

The best way to get there is via the ring road, followed by Marie van Bourgondiënstraat.

If you wish to park outside the low-emission zone, please choose the Ledeberg parking (cheaper option) or park in our street (more expensive option). 
Ledeberg parking is within walking distance of Edville Studio. 
This parking costs €8 per day (cheap for Ghent).

PARKING

You can park your car on our street (outside the low-emission zone):

  • Paid parking from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
  • Maximum parking time of 5 hours between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
  • Free parking on Sundays and public holidays.
  • You can park for free twice a day with a free 20-minute ticket.

You can also park in organized parking facilities, which is often a better and more cost-effective option than parking on the street: ​

Payment Method 1: Parking meter (ticket machine)

  • Ghent’s parking meters use license plate recognition. 
    This means you don’t need to place a ticket behind your windshield; the parking attendant can immediately see whether you’ve paid by checking your license plate. .
  • Here’s how to pay:
    1. Press ‘on’, select your language, and tap to start. ​
    2. Enter your license plate number. ​
    3. Select the parking time you need.
    4. ​Choose your payment method: bank card or cash.

Payment Method 2: Mobile parking (app or SMS)

  • You can also pay via mobile using well-known providers such as 4411.
  • Via app:
    1. Register with your chosen provider.
    2. Start the session: enter the meter number and your license plate. ​
    3. End the session right after you leave so that you only pay for the actual parking time. Stad Gent
  • By SMS (provider 4411 only):
    • First, register with 4411.
    • Send "GE-<meter number> <your license plate>" to start.
    • Send "Q" to end the session. ​
    • You are entitled to two free 20-minute sessions per day in the yellow and orange zones (and even 2×30 minutes in the green zone), provided the required break between sessions is respected.

The closest train station to Edville Studio is Gent-Sint-Pieters. 
From this station, you can reach Edville Studio via several transport options:

  • On foot: about a 10–15 minute walk.
  • Bus: several bus lines stop at the Terplatenbrug stop, just a few minutes’ walk from Edville Studio. Available lines include 34, 55, 70, 71, 76, 77, and 78.
  • Taxi: about a 5-minute drive.

Ubers are cheaper than taxis in Ghent. 
The price with an Uber is between €8 and €11. 
A taxi costs between €10 and €15.

Edville Studio has a bicycle parking area with camera surveillance.

You need to reserve the bike online with the Fietsambassade.

It’s best to pick up the bike at the bikepoint Sint-Pieters Station or at De Krook (library).
The price starts at €16 per day for a regular city bike.
